SERVICES OFFERED

The Greek Children's Fund provides for the following professional services to patients with life threatening illnesses:

Financial assistance for the non-medical needs of pediatric patients and their families.

Assistance and funding of essential needs such as housing and daily living expenses.

Referral services for Greek and Cypriot national patients and Greek-American patients.
Interface with hospitals and organizations both in the U.S. and abroad to coordinate services as needed for referrals.

Coordination of treatment course with the rest of the health care team.

Translation services during medical staff visits.

Education for patients and families on the diseases, treatment and side effects.

Psychological counseling and support to the patients and their families.

Coordination of discharge from the hospital and referral to appropriate community agencies as required.

GCF provides for Aspasia Gounaris, a part-time bilingual/bicultural Greek-American social worker and program coordinator at Schneider Children’s Hospital.
